This wine is special. It is the only pinot noir we have ever aged for 46 months and the first wine we have made with a black label. That extra barrel aging makes this wine entirely different from our usual pinots. We had our doubts about aging pinot this long but we decided to try it and we are thrilled with the results. The aromas are far more complex; what they lack in bright fruit notes they make up for in world of notes like caramel, blueberry and coffee. The wine is medium bodied with great, smooth mouthfeel you can only get with extended barrel aging. This wine is sophisticated and refined with a complexity that needs to be experienced. With only seventy-one cases produced this a must have special release.
